The Venue
Zonzo sits on a working vineyard, and that is the thing that makes it different from every other venue we shoot. It never presents the same way twice. Vines heavy and green through summer, gold and rust through autumn, bare architectural rows in winter with the ranges hard behind them. Book Zonzo in March and you will get a genuinely different set of photographs to the couple who booked it in July — not better or worse, just theirs.
The buildings are the second thing. There is a beautiful modern chapel, all clean lines and considered light, and then you walk out of it and into a barn. That contrast is the whole appeal — a ceremony that feels architectural and still, then a reception under timber and festoon lights that feels like a party in someone's very large shed. Two completely different moods in one day, and both photograph beautifully.
What we would tell you if you asked us over a coffee: the staff are the reason people relax here. It is a wedding venue that somehow manages to feel homely and friendly rather than processed, and that shows up on film. People behave like themselves. And the wood-fired pizza is not a small detail — it is genuinely one of the best things about shooting a wedding at Zonzo.

Why C2 at Zonzo
A vineyard venue asks a different question of a film crew than a ballroom does. Everything outdoors is on the weather's terms, the light drops fast behind the ranges, and the vines look completely different depending on the month you booked. A team that has shot Zonzo once has shot one version of it.
The other thing worth knowing is that Zonzo runs on a rhythm, not a schedule. It is a relaxed venue and people move at a relaxed pace, which is lovely to be part of and slightly dangerous if you are chasing golden hour. We build the day around that — we know when to quietly suggest you step outside, and how long we actually have before the light goes.

Planning Your Zonzo Wedding
Your season decides your palette. This is the single biggest thing about Zonzo and the one couples think about least. Summer gives you full green vines and long light. Autumn gives you gold and rust and is, in our opinion, the most beautiful time of year here. Winter strips the vines back to bare architectural rows with the ranges hard behind them — stark and genuinely striking, and nothing like the summer photos you saw on Instagram when you booked.
The light goes early behind the hills. You are in the Yarra Valley with ranges to the west, so sunset arrives sooner than the app tells you. If you want portraits in the vines — and you should — that window needs protecting in the run sheet.
Chapel then barn is a deliberate contrast. The Cappella is modern, quiet and beautifully lit; the barn is timber, festoon lights and noise. Lean into the difference rather than trying to make the day feel uniform. It gives your film two distinct movements.
It is a relaxed venue, and that is the point. Zonzo does not feel like a wedding factory. The staff are warm, the pace is unhurried, and guests behave like people rather than attendees. That is worth more on film than any styling decision.
